Hummus

Hummus is a popular Middle Eastern dips. Served with fresh or toasted pita bread, hummus makes for a great snack or appetizer.

My sons and daughters-in-law love it. I make it at home and it has very healthy ingredients and tastes good as a sandwich spread

Ingredients
  • 100gm Good quality Kabuli Chana (Chick peas)
  • 50g white sesame seeds (TIL)
  • 2 TBSP. Olive OIL.
  • 4-5 garlic pods
  • Some spice like green chillie, red chillie flakes, black ground pepper powder
  • Sweet lime juice 1 or 2 tsp.
Method:

1. Soak chana overnight. Pressure Cook with salt till soft.

2. Roast sesame seeds

3. Powder sesame seeds, add olive oil, grind to a fine texture. This is called Tahini butter.

4. Grind cooked chana , green chillie , garlic pods to a fine paste

5. Add Tahini butter to this mixture , add lime juice and mix thoroughly

6. You may add pepper powder, chillie flakes as per taste.
